Sikki Grass Crafts: Golden Ornaments of Nature
By Sunita Devi July 24, 2026
Sikki is a wild grass that grows abundantly in the wet regions of Bihar. Traditionally collected and dried, it turns a natural golden-yellow color. Women artisans dye the grass in vibrant pinks, greens, and blues to weave items like utility boxes, jewelry containers, mats, and toys. Known as the 'golden grass of Bihar', Sikki crafts represent women's empowerment and eco-friendly household storage.
